在中国文化中,鹿角象征权力;

In Chinese culture, antlers are a symbol of power. The word " deer " in Chinese also rhymes with a word for good fortune, representing wealth and prosperity in this life. Artist Meng Hao's antler man plays with a feminized bird in his hands, using the bird to make a phone call, holding it as a gun, or hiding it in his lapel….

The face of the antler man was derived from Buddhist sculptures of the Northern Wei dynasty (386-534), with a dignified profile and total lack of personality. In contrast to the various positions of his hands playing with the bird, his facial expression is tranquil and unchanging, staring straight forward, as if the eyes are completely empty. The thick antlers, manifesting the prestige and masculine dignity, were made from rigid cast bronze, blooming out from the painted porcelain of the head.

They exist in time wholly of themselves, with an unspeakable solemnity.

A Fable of the Antlers
by Meng Hao

In his early years, Professor S studied animal behavior, engaging in detailed research of deer "character". Deer have become his best partners. Professor S's research center is called "Deer Park", because it is situated in a farm that raises deer.

In Professor S's eyes, deer are the most typical animals in the world. They live in groups with social structure, distribution of labor and a high level of docility, though under certain circumstances they take on a frightful level of aggression. What sets them apart is that upon reaching adulthood, male deer grow massive antlers on their heads, antlers unrivaled in the animal kingdom for their magnificence. "…the docile deer is far from being at the top of the food chain. Those massive antlers are not used for defense, and in a certain sense are but a burden. However, the antlers are also very important, serving as an external expression of hidden things in their bodies. A pair of massive antlers is a sign of power, intelligence, and great seeds for the next generation…" "There is a direct proportional relationship between antler size and libido (male androgen) secretion. Libido controls the animal's desire, but is also affected by desire, a situation which results in its constant production. At three months, Charlie (an adult male deer who died in an altercation with Snod, another male), was mistakenly knocked down by a copulating pair. A sample of the blood that resulted showed that his libido was markedly higher than that of his peers. Interestingly, Charlie had many setbacks as he grew up (the death of his mother and being shunned by the group), and his originally unapparent abilities that evolved in the process of overcoming those setbacks eventually manifested in his massive antlers…" (Research on the Character of Deer by Professor S)

Much of Professor S's statements on humans attracted controversy, the most famous being his assertion that "if man is willing, he too can grow antlers without any external aides".

At the time, a magazine had published color photos from an African tribe where some of the men had antlers on their heads. As the public debated the authenticity of these photos, Professor S was quoted in an interview, saying, "for instance, if I, living in this 'deer park' and interacting with deer all day, started thinking about how to externalize my advantages, my strong muscles, my mighty sexual organs, my mental prowess and my desire for power, thinking about how to manifest that somewhere on my body, if I kept thinking about it, and about how to make my grandchildren think about it, one day my genetic memory will determine that one future generation will naturally think about that from the day he is born. My descendents, also living among the deer, these children will understand that antlers are the best manifestation of all of this, and one day, one of these descendants will grow antlers out of his head…"
