Sentimental Childhood of
1980s.
A boy tries to open a broken umbrella picked up from the bin, a girl gazes at viewers seriously, the street seems to be blew away in a hurricane. Without pretty toys, no piano classes, childhood of 1980s was uncared-for but boring, exiled on dirty HuTong (alleyways, the typical Chinese urban scene where messy illegal advertisement stickers are pasted everywhere). Eventually the childhood memory is demolished with the fast-paced urban development. And reality still unbearable, the artist finds himself stuck between unpromising future and lost childhood memory. |
